Hearts A-Plenty

I came across the following quote this morning:“to handle yourself, use your head. To handle others, use your heart” (Eleanor Roosevelt). This made me think about our daily comings and goings. It is so important to taking special care of those around you. Not only family and friends, but strangers and people you encounter in your daily journey. We easily forget to take into account others’ perspectives and backgrounds. We never know the path people have taken to get where they are. We wouldn’t want others to miss that about us, right?

To show kindness to others, I try to keep love in the forefront of my mind to each person, even if I don’t love an action or words they share. I focus on seeing the best in everyone and love them for exactly who they are. To keep this in the forefront of my mind, years ago I started looking for hearts wherever I went. It’s like when you get a new car and then see that same type everywhere you go. Each time I see a heart, it reminds me to love those around me and those on my mind. If you look, I bet you will see them too!

I see hearts everywhere now…it used to be mostly outside in nature. But now I see them in the most interesting places. And in each one, I reflect on gratitude and love of people.

“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.” Proverbs‬ ‭27‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I hope the focus of my life continues to reflect MY heart.
